Reinforced rubber hoses
Industrial rubber hoses are reinforced with fabric, fiber cord or metal wires to give strength to the hose. The hose reinforcement materials are typically polyamide, nylon, aramid, or glass fibers. The most common production methods are manual wrapping of fabric reinforced rubber sheets, or automated processes to wind fiber cords like braiding or spiraling. The fabric is manufactured by weaving high-performance fibers into fabric sheets. For the reinforcement of rubber hoses premium fibers such as Twaron, Kevlar, Nomex, Conex, Vectran, Teflon, polyester, and nylon are used. To increase the fiber to rubber adhesion the fabric is treated with materials like Resorcinol Formaldehyde Latex (RFL), silanes, and isocyanates.
